You Want One Thing for Your Advertising Dollar--Results. Here's How to Get the Results You Want.

Advertising doesn't have to be complicated. If you keep a few basics in mind, you should begin seeing better results. For your advertising to be effective, keep your messages:

1. Short and to the Point--Do you like reading page after page of lengthy Sales Letters? Neither do I. I want to read SHORT messages. I want to spend a few moments and get enough information to make a decision. So don't be long-winded. Use simple words and keep it short!

2. Honest and Believable--Don't use "hype." Most people don't fall for hype these days. It just isn't believable. Keep your messages very simple and yet intriguing. I've used: "Three Things You MUST do..." and "18 Ways to Obtain Free Advertising." People DO read those kinds of messages and they DO respond.

3. Creative--Write your ads in such a way as to make people curious enough to respond to your messages. It's something that YOU can control. Try it. Every time I place an ad, I use a different "first line" or headline, because THAT IS ALL that most people read. Just the first line or the headline. I try to keep 'em guessing. I try to make 'em curious.

4. Completely Free--Don't put any "strings" on it. Don't say it's free IF you order something or sign up or register for something. Offer it FREE, and when they request it, send it Free. It'll make them grateful. It'll make them come back and say "Thank You" and "What else do you have?" and "How many reports HAVE you written?"

Wait for the opportunity to tell your customer what you have available. Don't force it down their throats. Make them CURIOUS, so that they will request more information.

Then, once you have a new customer's name, hang on to it and work it for all you're worth, and don't let them go, even if they order something.
