With Slight Shifts in Focus, You Can Sell Products in a Variety of Ways.
By Gary Christensen
In this article, I'll show you how you can take one product or service, and be able to write seven ads for it, selling that product or service SEVEN DIFFERENT WAYS.
As an example, let's use a Report I recently wrote titled: How to Use the Word FREE in Every Ad You Write."
My new report lists various kinds of ads and how the word "FREE" can be used in each one.
So how do I advertise my New Report?
1. Tell Readers What It Is--I can give the name or title in my ads, telling readers why it is, telling them how much it costs, etc. And I'll get some orders. An ad like this might be written:"'How to use the word FREE in Every Ad You Write!' It's my latest report! It's yours for $2 from...."
2. Tell Readers What It Does--I can tell readers what it does, how it meets a need, how it gets more responses, how it's cost effective, etc. Using this emphasis, my ad might look like this:
"Get a better response to your ads with 'How to Use the Word FREE in Every Ad you Write.' It's yours for $2 from...."
3. Tell Readers It's New--We all like to get in on what's new. If it's "Just Released," tell them! Everyone likes to be the first to own one. Tell them it's NEW in the headline:
"New Report! Just Released! 'How to Use the Word FREE in Every Ad You Write.' Get this now! Send $2 to...
4. Use a Hot Word--The word FREE is still the best word to use! If you offer FREE information, FREE details, FREE art work, put THAT word in your headline:
"The Word FREE. How to Use it in Every Ad You Write." My new Report is only $2 from..."
5. Offer a Free Sample--Maybe the first one can be FREE. It can make people want to order more. Give them a taste...and they'll be back. This way, my ad might appear like this:
"FREE! Get my latest Free Report, 'How to Use the Word FREE in Every Ad You Write.' It's Free for the asking from..."
6. Ask a Question--Make the readers curious by asking them a question, offering to "give them the answer" if they write to you. An ad with this emphasis might read:
"Why give it away free? Find out how I use the word FREE in every ad I write. One copy is yours for $2 from..."
7. Shout the Low Price--Tell them it's only one or two dollars. Tell them that THIS will help them get a much better response. If it's a discounted price, them them. If it's on sale, tell them. If its now at the lowest price ever, tell them. Here's how I might emphasize the low price.
"Only $2 will get you a copy of my new report: 'How to Use the Word FREE in Every Ad You Write.' Order from..."
There's more than ONE way to sell your product or service. Try writing a few ads, following these examples. And good luck!
