DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS

No Matter What Curve Balls Life May Throw at You, Staying Focused on Your Dreams Can Reap Rich Rewards.

By Roy McDaniel

As a teenager, I always knew I wanted to work for myself. I just never knew what I was good enough at to start my own business. I've never had enough money to open up a McDonalds or any other franchise. I knew whatever I did would have to be at low cost.

As I reached early adulthood, I figured I would find a good job and save enough money to start my own business. But then God created women and somewhere along the way I became a single father. I knew at this point it would be very difficult for me to save money to start my own business.

Throughout the years I've worked several jobs just to stay afloat. There wasn't enough money to pay the bills, let alone start a business. I knew in my heart that there had to be a better way to live. So one day I received one of those "chain letters" in the mail. In my mind, I knew this was a message from God. But of course we all know that those chain letters just don't work.

One day, a friend of mine introduced me to network marketing. At first I was very skeptical, but she was a good friend so I went ahead and gave it a chance. I spent what little money I had promoting my business, because I knew I was going to be a success. But, I hate to admit I fell flat on my face. At that time, I said I wouldn't join another company. Now, by this time I was further in debt and still didn't have a business of my own.

Ask any single parent and they'll tell you it's very hard to raise a child on your own. After I failed at MLM, I knew all of my dreams were just that--dreams. All I wanted was to give my children a better life and give them a good education.

So after a year of working those "nickel and dime" programs and educating myself on network marketing through magazines and books, God gave me another chance. I got that chance by becoming a member of "The Revolution Team," the business I had been searching for.

Of course, nothing comes without work. There were several challenges along the way and they're the same challenges you'll no doubt face in your search for success. Finding your dreams may mean accepting new things:

1. Overcome Your Limitations--You may have to do things that you currently find difficult or impossible. You have to want success bad enough that you can overcome your limitations and personal obstacles.

2. Be Committed--You must commit yourself to success without any excuses. If you fail, you must take full responsibility. If you can blame someone else, you will almost certainly fail.

3. Accept Risk--Even though you may only need one or two hundred dollars to get started, act as though you're risking everything in the world. Act as though you have borrowed five thousand dollars from a loan shark to invest in your enterprise. If you fail because you didn't do your homework, the loan shark's boys are going to put you in traction--or worse.

4. Be Consistent--Follow directions from those who have succeeded before you. Don't deviate. Don't slack off. Above all, don't quit! It doesn't matter how badly you feel. DON'T QUIT!

If you can grasp and apply all of these ingredients, you're almost certain to succeed. And If there is anyone who wants to start their own business, all I can say is "DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS!" No matter what curve balls life may throw at you, you have to stay focused on your dreams. Keep that dream burning in your heart and never let the fire burn out. If I can keep the fire burning, so can you.
