After recovering from the shock, you'll be able to move forward to an even better and more rewarding future.
How? Let's take a look:

Now that you have lost the job, do you really want to continue in the same profession? This may also be a good time to relocate to another area and try something new.2. Go Back to School--This may turn out to be an excellent time to get more education. There are many adult night school programs at local universities. The University of Phoenix has an excellent online program for special studies and earning degree. The local library is also bursting with books on all subjects and skills.
3. Try Something New--The Sunday newspapers and the Internet have a wealth of information about the jobs that are available. There are dozens of dot-com Web sites that specialize in resumes and job searches. Hire a professional to update your resume to target your area of expertise. Don't rule out looking into something new. Set up some job interviews to explore moving into a new career area. Interviews are a great way to explore new careers. Also, take a look into the dozens of job fairs that are in your area.

Self-employment is not for everyone, but at this time of great opportunity for entrepreneurs, there is no time like the present to explore this business possibility. It may be as simple as expanding a favorite hobby or a long-time interest into a profitable business.
5. Experience is Golden--Take stock of your talent and expertise. Anyone can take a class or read a book, but on-the-job experience is like money in the bank. Assessing your value in the job market will add greatly to your feeling of self-confidence.
6. A New Beginning--One of the primary lessons to be learned from losing a job is that it is not the end of the world and that you will survive.
