IS EVERYBODY JUST BLOWING SMOKE? Can You Truly Make Money in Your Own Mailorder Business? Or Is It All Simply a Grand Illusion? Read On.
By Douglas D. Watson
Is it the ultimate grand illusion? Could it be a gigantic conspiracy that everyone but you is in on? Is there really money in mail order or is it an unreachable dream? You jump into the business to make riches. You play the game by the rules but you make little or no money. You go back to square one, regroup and read countless books and articles on mail order and yet profit eludes you.
Could the books and articles be written by a bunch of hobbyists? Is it possible only a few are making any profit at all? Why would people do this to their fellow human beings? Could it be they're trying to get even because they themselves feel as if they were duped in mail order? Perhaps they figure if they dupe enough people they will start making money. What's going on here?
Most people jump head first into mail order for the sole purpose of becoming rich in a short period of time. Most of these people not only fail to test the water, but they also fail to check if there is any water in the pool.
I read that an estimated 15,000 people jump into mail order every day. The wolves in borrowed sheep suits are waiting for the innocents to come into their dungeon of false hope. Promise them riches, give them failure. It works! The novices come into what they think is mail order, exchanging their common sense for dreams that will become nightmares.
Some learn fast ad exit while they still have money. Others jump from one losing program to another in the hopes of finding the mother lode. All these people fail because the promises and the hopes are counterfeit.
These people think they have lost their money in the land of mail order. In truth, these people weren't even on the right road. They were detoured into the land of schemers and scammers. A land known for artists who paint gold mines in the minds of dreamers. Mail order money takes time to make. Seldom does one honest mail order dealer turn over a good profit in her/his first few years.
Every dealer new or old puts on a front of making money. Before we can make a sale the pospect has to believe the program is working for us. Let's face it, who is going to purchase anything from a dealer who admits he/she is losing money?
The folks in mail order who have been around for a while know there is only one way to make money in this business. You must be a prime source. You must create your own products or services. There is no other way around it. If you don't have a creative spirit, chances are you're going to be left behind in this business.
The key to being a prime source is to find a need and fill it. It's a losing battle to try and fit the market to the product. Instead, we must fit the product to the market. We can come up with the greatest product in the world, but if nobody else agrees, we are doomed to failure.
Digging up the riches must be done with a teaspoon at times. A person must be willing to work at mail order. The creative spirit must also be a long-suffering spirit, able to overcome the bad ideas in order to break through to the great ideas.
People who want to succeed at anything must first learn the ropes of that particular thing. Just because someone says a certain program is legal doesn't make it necessarily so. Fools gold in this business is any program which declares it will make you rich with little or no work on your part. We must separate the lies from reality BEFORE entering a program and not afterward.
The scammers and schemers operate on the outskirts of mail order while they claim to be long-standing citzens of the mail order community. Be leery of the salesperson dressed in an expensive suit or dress. Don't fall for the lies of the salesperson who drives up in a Mercedes. When dusk is near, they will have to take everything back to the rental center.
Yes, a lot of people in and around mail order are blowing smoke in the direction of those who would believe anything. We all need to investigate programs and so-called dealers. Perhaps by doing this, we can turn the smoke into ashes.
